Our Neck of the Woods

We took a short drive over to the coast today to check things out. I'm just going to let these pics do most of the talking, because I can't say it nearly so eloquently. These are the rocks at Riverton.

Anyone who knows me knows that I NEVER pass up a roadside stand. Ever. And warm cherries that came off the tree this morning are why. She says she'll be there with apricots next week. I'll be there too.

This is our local surfing beach at Colac Bay. The surfers here are incredible, and the waves practically beg to be ridden. The blue is a tad more intense than it translated in this shot.

Like everything we've seen since we've been here, the drive was spectacular from end to end. The place has quite a personality and I can't wait for it to tell me more of it's story.

The Fiordlands stand as sentinels, jutting out of the sea to stand guard over the residents.

Another glimpse of the Fiordlands from the road around the bay.

I love old bridges. These are not few and far between. In fact, I've just learned that there is a rather impressive suspension bridge not too far from here that I will be exploring at the earliest opportunity.

Just in case you need to know where you are...

There's a randomly placed signpost to help you out.

Sometimes I can't believe that what we're looking at is even real.  This truly is a land of magic and wonder.
