Ghosts in the Machine

Jeremy and Elsie at Arches National Park, Utah

So I've been having some camera issues. As part of my maintenance, I changed out the memory card to a previously used one I thought wasn't too worn and torn.

Lily, Elsie, and Raike at Crater Lake, Oregon

I opened it and there were 2 old pics on there, that I had no idea how they weren't scrapped ages ago. They weren't anything special, but I loaded them onto my computer and deleted them, then started shooting on that old/new card.

I opened it to load those new pics onto my computer, and out of who knows where, a cache popped up. Loaded with treasures that I had absolutely no idea still existed.

Lily and our friend walking across a dried up portion of Salt Lake, Utah.

Looking through the pics, I realized that this was the card that was in a camera that took a dip in Salt Lake out in Utah. The pics are from our trip out west 8 years ago. The camera was destroyed, but I couldn't bring myself to pitch the card. I had tried a couple of times to access the data, but it always registered as empty. I had forgotten all about it and must have grabbed it with the others to bring to NZ.

This just might be the best present I've ever gotten. Thanks Ghostie!

This little gem had been previously eaten by the card and tucked away in a secret room.

I had absolutely no idea this existed. Raike's voice. Ack.

This prezzie is all for me. Yay hidden chambers!
